Google ties up with SBI for mobile payments app Tez

Internet giant Google has tied up with State Bank of India (SBI) for its mobile payments app Tez. Through this partnership, Google Tez will allow users to create an SBI UPI Id – @oksbi and get access to exclusive offers for SBI customers. The partnership will focus on building unique propositions for users and merchants, including specially curated offers.

 

Uma Bharti launches 2nd project of Swajal Yojana in Rajasthan

Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Sushri Uma Bharti, today launched the Swajal pilot project at Village Bhikampura, Karauli, Rajasthan. Besides ensuring the availability of clean drinking water to every household round the year, the project would also generate employment.

Sushri Uma Bharti urged the people to own the project that will be started soon. She reminded that it is the death anniversary of Chandrashekhar Azad and the government is trying to fulfil his dream of Swaraj.

 

New Facilities for UAN- Aadhar Linking Introduces By EPFO

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced UAN-Aadhaar linking facility for the convenience of members using EPFO Link in UMANG Mobile App.  This is in addition to the existing web facility already available at EPFO’s website www.epfindia.gov.in >> Online Services >> e-KYC Portal>> LINK UAN AADHAAR.

The facility on e-KYC Portal has further added a new feature to link UAN with Aadhaar online using biometric credentials.

India’s Dec quarter GDP growth likely to be 7%: Morgan Stanley

India’s economic recovery is expected to have gathered momentum and GDP growth for the December quarter is likely to have accelerated to 7 per cent, says a Morgan Stanley report.

India’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.3 per cent in July-September quarter of the fiscal from 5.7 per cent in the first quarter.

 

Shri Nitin Gadkari Lays the foundation stone for National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts at IIT Chennai

Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation laid  the  foundation stone for setting up of a National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), at IIT Chennai today.  The Ministry of Shipping and IIT Chennai also signed an MoU for this at the event today.

NTCPWC is being set up at a cost of Rs 70.53 crore and will give technological support to ports and maritime sector

 

Mumbai home to highest-paid expats: Survey

Mumbai tops global rankings for expat salaries, according to the latest HSBC Expat Explorer survey. In fact, for expats looking for high earnings, east is the direction to travel, with Asian cities making up four of the top 10 when it comes to the largest expat pay cheques. Mumbai is home to the highest-paid expats in the survey, earning an average annual income of $217,165, compared with the global average of $99,903. Shanghai comes fourth with an average expat income of $202,211, Jakarta eighth at $152,589 and Hong Kong ninth at $148,410.

 

Odisha Launches Scheme To Provide Free Sanitary Pads To 17 Lakh Students

As part of its initiatives to empower women, the Odisha government today launched a scheme to provide free sanitary napkins to school girls across the state.The scheme will be implemented by the health and family welfare department of the state at a cost of 70 crore per year.

 

King of Jordan Abdullah II to Visit India Today

King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, accompanied by a business delegation, will come on a three-day visit to India starting today, the External Affairs Ministry announced on Monday.This will be his second visit to India after his visit along with Queen Rania in 2006.According to an External Affairs Ministry statement, King Abdullah will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the course of which the two sides will discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
