Mandaviya, launched the ‘JANAUSHADHI SUVIDHA’, the Oxo-biodegradable Sanitary Napkin, under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), here today. The affordable sanitary napkins will now become available at over 3600 Janaushadhi Kendras functional in 33 States/UTs across India, as promised by Union Minister, Chemical & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Ananthkumar on March 8, 2018 (World Women’s day).

Jordanian PM Hani Mulki submits his resignation to King Abdullah II

Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Mulki submitted his resignation to King Abdullah II.  His resignation was submitted in a meeting with the King. It comes amid mass protests over price hikes and adoption of a draft income tax reform bill based on recommendations by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).  The Protests have been taking place across Amman and other towns for the last four days calling for the removal of Mulki. His government had proposed raising the income tax on employees by at least five percent and on companies by between 20 and 40 percent.

Kagiso Rabada Won South Africa’s Cricketer Of The Year Award

Kagiso Rabada, the world’s number one Test bowler, was named South Africa’s Cricketer of the Year. The award came at the end of a 12-month period during which Rabada, 23, was a consistent match-winner and subject of disciplinary hearings. Rabada took 72 wickets at an average of 19.52 in 12 Tests going back to a series in England. Rabada collected a total of six awards, including Test cricketer of the year, one-day international player of the year and players’ player of the year.

Microsoft data leader gets 2018 ACM SIGMOD Edgar F Codd Innovations award

India born Raghu Ramakrishnan has won the 2018 ACM SIGMOD Edgar F Codd Innovations award for his pioneering work in deductive databases and their application for relational databases in practice.

Raghu Ramakrishnan is CTO for Data, and a Technical Fellow at Microsoft. He was previously Chief Scientist at Yahoo! and Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Microsoft to buy coding site GitHub for $7.5 bn

Microsoft Corp said on Monday it would buy privately held coding website GitHub Inc for $7.5 billion in an all-stock deal to expand its clout among software developers.

GitHub supplies coding tools for developers and calls itself the world’s largest code host with more than 28 million developers using its platform.
