Tourism Ministry launches 360° Virtual Reality (VR) video on Incredible India

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with Google India today launched a 360° Virtual Reality (VR) experience video on Incredible India https://t.co/H1VdcNXBUR. Describing India as a destination of diverse experiences, Minister of State (IC) for Tourism, Shri K. J. Alphons said, “India is an iconic destination that offers unique experiences of climate, geography, culture, art, literature, and food” The Minister also added that Government wants to give people in India and across the world an opportunity to immerse in our country’s rich heritage. And, through the partnership with Google, it wants to engage new and global audiences and offer them immersive content in a never-before-seen manner.

 

Lt Gen Bipin Puri takes over as Senior Colonel Commandant of AMC

Lt Gen Bipin Puri took over as Senior Col Commandant of the Army Medical Corps, here today. He assumed the appointment of Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) on 01 November 2017.

Lt Gen Bipin Puri graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps (AMC) on 08 December 1979. He completed his post graduation in General Surgery from AFMC in 1985 and MCh(Paed Surg) from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh in 1993.

 

HRD Ministry Launches 2nd Edition Of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, HRD launched the second edition of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan under which students from 750 higher educational institutions from across the country will adopt villages and visit them to get acquainted with the lifestyle of people there and the problems faced by them. The minister advised the students to involve local village people at every stage of problem identification and solving issues relating to health, cleanliness, waste management, plantation, financial inclusion, women and child development.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Embarks On 3-Day Visit To China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on a three-day visit to China. Mr. Modi will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping during an informal summit in Wuhan city.  It is expected that the meeting between Mr Modi and Mr Xi will be a milestone in India-China relations. This will be Mr Modi’s fourth visit to China after he came to power in 2014

 

M-Awas App For Allotment Of GPRA Through ASA Launched

Hardeep Puri, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs (I/C) launched a Mobile App (m-Awas) for allotment of Government accommodations in General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) in Delhi under the control of the Directorate of Estates. The application has been developed by NIC. A total number of 61,317 residential accommodations of various types are available in Delhi which are allotted to the eligible Central Government employees through Automated System of Allotment (ASA), by using login Id and password.

 

India’s 1st E-Commerce Think Tank Meet Convened By Suresh Prabhu

Suresh Prabhu, the commerce and industry minister, held the first e-commerce think tank meeting in New Delhi. The minister chaired the meeting which aimed at framing a national policy on e-commerce. The setting up of this e-commerce think tank and the initiative taken by the ministry may well be interpreted as the government and its allied bodies beginning to understand the growth potential of the e-commerce industry in India.
