The inaugural session of the Indian Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 was held at Cannes, France.Hosted by noted actor Shri Sharad Kelkar, the Indian delegation present consisted of H.E. India Transact Services launches ‘SMART’ PoS solution
India Transact Services Ltd (ITSL), a digital payment arm of AGS Transact Technologies (AGSTTL), has introduced its first ‘SMART’ PoS solution.

Kochi start-up launches NDC booking for Lufthansa
Kochi-based travel start-up Verteil Technologies has launched “live direct connect booking” for Lufthansa through IATA’s NDC specification.
The company had launched NDC in India earlier with British Airways. It offers IATA’s NDC (New Distribution Capability) specification via the Verteil Direct Connect platform.
SCO Tourism Ministers Conference Held In China

Gujarat-Poland Sign MoU On Organizing Independence Centenary
The department of youth and cultural affairs of the Gujarat government will be co-organisers for the centenary celebrations to mark the independence of Poland in Delhi and other parts of the world. A MoU was signed in this regard today between the Gujarat government and the Poland government. The MoU was signed by Polish ambassador to India Adam Burakowski and principal secretary of youth and cultural affairs department V P Patel in presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Vijay Prahar Exercise Of Indian Army Concludes In Rajasthan
Indian Army’s month-long Vijay Prahar exercise concluded in Suratgarh, Rajasthan. It was conducted by South Western Command of Indian Army. The exercise was aimed to orchestrate wide spectrum of threats including Nuclear, Chemical or Biological (NCB) attack which is planned to be tackled through high tempo joint air and land operation. The exercise was conducted to practice troops in penetrative maneuvers across obstacle-ridden terrain under a nuclear umbrella
Malaysia Gets Oldest Prime Minister In The World
Mahathir Mohamad was sworn in as Prime Minister of Malaysia. He took the oath at the Istana Negara Palace in Kuala Lumpur. Mahathir’s coalition, Pakatan Harapan, won 113 of the total 222 seats. He has replaced Najib Razak. His coalition defeated the governing Barisan Nasional coalition, led by Prime Minister Najib Razak, which has been in power for more than 60 years. Ninety-two-year-old, Mahathir becomes the oldest Prime Minister in the world.
Govt approves green licence plates for e-vehicles
To promote electric vehicles in the country, the government has approved green licence plates bearing numbers in white fonts for private e-vehicles and yellow for taxis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Wednesday.
A notification in this regard will be out in a week’s time, Mr. Gadkari, who has been advocating electric mobility promotion.
Pawan Kalyan unfurls world’s largest Indian flag in Telangana
Pawan Kalyan unfurled the flag to commemorate the first war of the India’s independence that took place in 1857.
The flag was 122 feet in length and 183 feet in width. The flag was prepared by an organisation called ‘Vibrants of Kalam’. This flag is claimed to be world’s largest Indian National Flag. Pawan Kalyan administered a national integration pledge to youth who attended the event.
China’s Alibaba buys Pakistan e-commerce firm Daraz
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba said Wednesday it had purchased leading Pakistani online retailer Daraz, continuing its overseas expansion by gaining a foothold in the growing South Asian consumer market.
The move came after Alibaba announced in March a doubling of its investment in Southeast Asian e-commerce firm Lazada.
China is seeking closer economic ties with Asian neighbours including Pakistan through its Belt and Road initiative, a strategy to increase trade links that is led primarily by infrastructure projects.
Daraz, founded in 2012, was purchased from Rocket Internet, a Berlin-based incubator of online startups.

This three-day Summit is being jointly organised by Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The Summit will serve as a platform for Indian civil aviation agencies and aviation industry representatives, including private sector airlines and airport operators, to identify advanced US technologies and practices that can support their expansion and modernization efforts.
