4th Regional Conference on Futuristic, Resilient and Digital Infrastructure of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank begins in Bengaluru
The Ministry of Finance, Government of India in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) organized the 4thRegional Conference on Futuristic, Resilient and Digital Infrastructure in Bengaluru today. The 2-day Conference is a lead-up to the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to be hosted by the Government of India on 25th and 26th June 2018 in Mumbai. The Conference saw eminent delegates representing partner institutions, academia, civil society organizations and experts from various fields expressing their views on how to bring about institutional approaches for futuristic and digital infrastructure in India.
RJio unveils AI-based video platform ‘JioInteract’
Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJio), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has launched ‘JioInteract’, an Artificial Intelligence-based brand-engagement video platform.

Cognizant buys Belgium-based firm Hedera Consulting
Cognizant Technology Solutions has acquired privately-held Hedera Consulting, a Belgium-based specialist in business advisory and data analytics services across industries.
The acquisition will expand Cognizant’s consulting, business insight and digital transformation capabilities for clients in Belgium and the Netherlands, says a press release from Cognizant, the US-based IT company that has large offshore presence in India.
InQ Innovation, Australia’s Tank Stream tie up to support start-ups
InQ Innovation Global and Australia-based Tank Stream Labs have signed an MoU to support Indian and Australian start-ups for their global scaling up with resources, launch pads, exchange programmes and infrastructure in both the countries and in West Asia.

LuLu Financial Group begins operations in Hong Kong
LuLu Financial Group, the financial services and payments solution brand, has started operations in Hong Kong with the inauguration of its head office at Kowloon.
The group acquired 100 per cent ownership of a local financial services company in Hong Kong, adding five more branches to its global network. Branded as LuLu Money, this is LuLu Financial Group’s 10th country of operation, and second in the APAC region, after Philippines.

SAI team wins Kerala leg of Youth I league
SAI Regional Football Academy, Thiruvananthapuram won the Hero Youth I league Kerala Zone (Rest of India Group D) to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. SAI finished seven points in the five-team league.
Though SAI was tied along with Kerala Blasters FC and MSP Football Academy, it emerged as the winner on basis of having the best goal difference among the three. SAI and Kerala Blasters FC qualified for the main phase.

IOC to set up LNG plant in Amaravati
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has chalked out plans to set up an indoor liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Amaravati next year.
The IOC officials met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday to discuss the company’s plans for the capital city.
They told Mr. Naidu that they would start the indoor LNG plant next year.

ICICI Bank names Radhakrishnan Nair As Independent Director
ICICI Bank’s board appointed Radhakrishnan Nair as an additional (independent) director of the bank for five years. The appointment is subject to the approval of shareholders. Mr Nair is also an independent director of three subsidiaries of the bank – ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, ICICI Prudential Trust, and ICICI Securities Primary Dealership.
Subhash Chandra Khuntia appointed as New IRDAI Chairman
Subhash Chandra Khuntia, a 1981-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer who was a former Karnataka Chief Secretary appointed as Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved Khuntia’s appointment for a period of three years. The post was vacant for more than two months after TS Vijayan’s tenure came to an end.
Maharashtra Becomes first To Provide Digitally-Signed Documents
Maharashtra became the first state to provide digitally-signed land record receipts (also known as 7/12 receipts), which Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed would check irregularities and bring in transparency. The 7/12 receipt is the most important document which establishes the ownership of the land and is primarily used by farmers while applying for loans. It is also used by the government during crop surveys and to extend various facilities.
