Centre approved for the construction of Delhi-Baghpat highway
Centre approved the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to construct the first phase of a new highway at a distance of almost 170km. The highway will connect east Delhi’s Akshardham to Uttarakhand’s Dehradun.

University of Ranchi launches “RADIO KHANCHI 90.4 FM Aap Sabka Radio”
University of Ranchi has launched its own Community Radio Station named as RADIO KHANCHI 90.4 FM Aap Sabka Radio. The radio was launched on the occassion of International Women’s Day and would provide help to university students which is spread over a campus of more than 15 kms. Radio Khanchi under Ranchi University remains to be the first-ever University in the Eastern Zone to be gifted with a Community Radio Station by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and sponsored by Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Jharkhand.
GoI approved industrial licenses to 15 companies to manufacture Bullet Proof Jackets
Government-issued industrial licenses to 15 companies to manufacture Bullet Proof Jackets (BPJs) on 11 March. The announcement was made by Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh. The 15 companies for manufacturing Bullet Proof Jackets have the production capacity in the country of over 10 Lakh per annum to meet the domestic and export requirement.
SBI announced rate cuts on Fixed Deposit
State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a rate cut of the fixed deposit rates across multiple tenors for general customers and senior citizens. It has reduced a rate cut up to 50 basis points (bps) in some tenors, and for some tenors, it has announced a reduction of 10 bps.

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor V Praveen Rao has won the 7th Dr MS Swaminathan Award. He has won the award for the period 2017-2019. He has been awarded for his contributions in the fields of agricultural research, teaching, extension and administration. Praveen Rao handled 13 research & 6 consultancy projects on micro-irrigation in India, Israel and South Africa.

Scientists from the Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) have developed a hybrid variety of grapes, ARI-516. It is resistant to fungal diseases, high yielding, and has excellent juice quality.
