☛ What are the posts available under this recruitment project?

The post which will be available in this recruitment project is Clerk.

 

☛ When will be the exam conducted?

The Tentative dates for Preliminary Exams are 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th December.

The Tentative date for Mains Exam is 21st January 2018.

☛ Are there any changes in Exam Pattern?
Yes, this year IBPS has made changes in the Mains Exam Pattern. Now the structure is very similar to the mains pattern of last year’s SBI Clerk Exams. Reasoning and Computer sections are clubbed and this section of Reasoning & Computer Aptitude is of 60 marks for 45 minutes.

Another big change in the exam pattern of IBPS Clerk Mains this year is that the weightage of General Awareness portion has been increased. General/Financial Awareness section is of 50 marks for a time limit of 35 minutes. The overall time duration for Mains exam has also been increased to 160 minutes instead of last year’s 135 minutes.

☛ When will the registration start?

Registration will start from 12th September 2017 and will end on 3rd October 2017


☛ When will the result be declared?

Tentative Date for declaration of Results for Preliminary Exam is in December 2017.

Tentative Date for declaration of Results for Mains is in February 2018.

Final results will be declared on April 2018.

☛ How many vacancies are there?

The number of vacancies is 7883 for Clerk. Following Table gives the complete break up of State-wise vacancies.

Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank and Vijya Bank have not yet reported their vacancies in any state. So aspirants can expect the number of vacancies to increase.

Will the vacancies for IBPS Clerk 2017-18 Recruitment increase?
Yes, the vacancies are expected to increase and a few participating banks have not yet declared their vacancies for IBPS Recruitment. Aspirants can expect the number of vacancies to go up.

☛ What is the syllabus for IBPS Clerk 2017 Pre and Mains Exam?
Students aiming for IBPS Clerk exam must prepare these sections: English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General and Financial Awareness (Static awareness, banking awareness, and current affairs) and Computer Aptitude.

☛ Will there be any interview after the written result?

No, there will be no GD or Interview round for IBPS Clerk Recruitment.

☛ Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?

Common Written Exam for IBPS Clerk will be conducted online (Both Prelims and Mains).

☛ What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?

Minimum: 20 years         Maximum: 28 years

A candidate must have been born not  earlier than 02.09.1989 and not later than 01.09.1997 (both dates inclusive)

☛ What is the educational qualification required for the posts in this recruitment process?

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. (As on 31.10.2017)

Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.

☛ I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?

Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before  31.10.2017.

☛ What is the application Fee?

Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Rs. 600 /- for all others

☛ I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?

Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.

☛ I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?

No, You must be at least 20 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as on as on 01.09.2017.

☛ How to calculate the Percentage?

The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

☛ What is the Structure of the exam?

IBPS has introduced some changes in the Mains exam.

☛ Is the exam Bilingual?

The tests except for the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

☛ What is the cut-off for being recruited?

There is no fixed cutoff for IBPS Clerk. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Your final score is calculated based on your performance in the written test.

☛ Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?

Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section in order to secure a seat for the Interview.

☛ I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the Numerical Ability section. Am I still eligible?

Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the Mains. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.

☛ Is there a criterion for negative marking?

There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.

☛ What is the pattern of score in IBPS Clerk Exam?

The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using the equipercentile method.
