IBPS SO 2018 Vacancy

The vacancies for IBPS SO 2018 haven’t been announced yet. The total number of vacancies for IBPS SO 2017 was 1315.  The number of vacancies had gone down due to less number of participating banks. Here is the number for different posts:

IBPS SO Exam Centres

IBPS has nationwide centres in almost every state and union territories, but the final list of examination centres will be released with the official notification which is expected to be released in October-November’17.

IBPS SO Exam Pattern 2018

This year IBPS had introduced a major change in the recruitment process of Specialist Officers. Earlier there used to be only 1 examination then followed by an interview but this year there will be a two-tier examination for this recruitment.

The preliminary exam will be a qualifying phase for the mains and candidates will have to clear the cut-offs of prelims to be allowed to appear for Mains exam. 

IBPS SO Prelims and Mains exam will include the following sections English, Reasonings, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. The syllabus and level of English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude is same as that of any Banking Officer level recruitment; Professional Knowledge is the test of field-specific knowledge or field-specific aptitude.  Apart from online examination, there will also be a phase of Personal Interview.

Professional Knowledge test for this post is a test of Hindi Language, the syllabus includes Reading Comprehension (related to women empowerment), Grammar, Synonym (पर्यायवाची), Translation and Word Meaning. As it is a test of Hindi language and translation, candidates should be well versed with Hindi Grammar and build their vocabulary.

The online application for the recruitment of specialist officer will be start after the release of the official notification for the recruitment process.

IBPS SO Result 2018

IBPS will release the results in three stages after completion of each level Exam. The candidates selected in the rounds progress to the next one. Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official IBPS website as and when the results are announced.
