Sreejesh becomes member of FIH Athlete’s Committee
The Indian men’s hockey team captain PR Sreejesh has become a member of International Hockey Federation (FIH) Athlete’s Committee. The Committee comprises a total of eight current and former hockey players who have the responsibility to act as a liaison between the FIH and the Athlete’s. Earlier, Sreejesh lead the Indian team to the Silver medal feet at the FIH Champion Trophy in London.
International Kite Festival in Hyderabad
Kite flyers from 17 countries are participating in kite fest 2017. Telangana state’s second international kite festival which is commencing here on Thursday. Norway to become first country to switch off FM radio
Norway will shut down FM radio in the country beginning in 2017, Radio-no-reports. The Norwegian Ministry of Culture finalized a shift date this week, making it the first country to do away with FM radio entirely. The country plans to transition to Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) as a national standard.
Tisca Chopra wins Best Actress Award for Chutney
Actress Tisca Chopra named as Best Actress for Chutney at the Jio Film Fare Awards introduced a new category “Jio Film Fare Short Film Awards”, where among 45 nominations. Chutney bagged two awards. It was also chosen as Best Film (Fiction).
Padmashree awardee K. M. Philip passes away
A whole time director of MRF Ltd K. M. Phillip passed away. He was an active member of the YMCA and brought prestige to the organization as the first Asian to be elected as the president of the world alliance of YMCAs with its head quarters in Geneva. He was honored with the award Padmashree.
World’s First Gender Literature Fest in Patna
The World’s First Gender Literature Festival will be held in Patna during 7th to 9th April 2017. The Gender Resource Center of Bihar’s women development corporation will be organizing the festival. The objective of this initiative is to create a plat form, to exchange ideas and to share and learn experience of renowned people in the field of gender literature.
Arunachal signs MOU with NDDB to boost dairy sector
Arunachal Pradesh today (12-1-17) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) at Anand, Gujarat to kick start a white revolution in the state. As per the MOU signed in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. NDDM would conduct a survey related to milk production and consumption & identify areas of intervention in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Birth anniversary of social reformer, philosopher and thinker Swami Vivekananda celebrated as National Youth Day. Every year on January 12 to mark as the National Youth Day.
