IBPS CLERK SYLLABUS 2017:

Dear Students, finally, the much-awaited notification of IBPS Clerk 2017 is out and you all must have already started to prepare yourself for the Examination. The preliminary examination is going to be held in December, it’s high time to put the pedal to the metal, batten down the hatches and get yourself ready for IBPS Clerk Examination. The very first step in one’s preparations for a particular examination is to gather adequate knowledge of Complete IBPS Clerk 2017 Syllabus. As IBPS does not officially release a syllabus for this particular examination, we can assume that the syllabus is vast and intricate. It is geared towards testing aspirant’s flexibility to solve complex questions.

We all know that the pattern of all the banking examinations, especially SBI PO Examination 2017, have been showing extreme variations when compared to previous year’s examinations. All that you need to do is to be ready for a bolt from the blues and to tackle it all with poise. The IBPS PO Syllabus always remains the same, only the questions based on those topics are molded in a completely different way that makes you a bundle of nerves while attempting the examination. So students, here is the complete IBPS Clerk 2017 Syllabus.

IBPS CLERK 2017 COMPLETE SYLLABUS

Reasoning Ability Syllabus

Reasoning Ability is an onerous section. With the increasing complexity of questions, it becomes hard for one to give it the cold shoulder. Earlier students used to have a mindset of ignoring the complex puzzles, thereby solving the other questions that are comparatively easy. But to their dismay, this strategy won’t be working anymore as so many questions from the other topics like directions, etc. are being asked in the form of puzzles only. The only way to make the grade in this particular section in the forthcoming exam of IBPS Clerk is to practice continuously with all your heart and soul. The syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude, IBPS Clerk Examination is:

  • Puzzles
  • Seating Arrangements
  • Direction Sense
  • Blood Relation
  • Syllogism
  • Order and Ranking
  • Coding-Decoding
  • Machine Input-Output
  • Inequalities
  • Alpha-Numeric-Symbol Series
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Logical Reasoning (Passage Inference, Statement and Assumption, Conclusion, Argument)
Also, for Mains Examination, IBPS has included Computer Aptitude in this very section only. The name of the new section thus formed is Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude. Here is the additional syllabus for Computer Aptitude:
  • History and Generation of Computers
  • Introduction to Computer Organisation
  • Computer Memory
  • Computer Hardware and I/O Devices
  • Computer Software
  • Computer Languages
  • Operating System
  • Computer Network
  • Internet
  • MS Office Suit and Short cut keys
  • Basics of DBMS
  • Number System and Conversions
  • Computer and Network Security

Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

This section has always been giving the aspirants heebie-jeebies when they appear for any examination. As the level of every other section is only getting complex and convoluted, there is no doubt that this section too will be making your blood run cold. As per the analysis of previous examinations, the questions asked in this section are calculative and very time consuming. Data Interpretation and topics from arithmetic section make it hard for one to deal with the section as easily as any other section. The level of questions on arithmetic asked in the previous year were so convoluted and calculative that almost every aspirant broke out in a cold sweat. The syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude, IBPS Clerk Examination is:
  • Data Interpretation (Bar Graph, Line Chart, Tabular, Caselet, Radar/Web, Pie Chart)
  • Inequalities (Quadratic Equations)
  • Number Series
  • Approximation and Simplification
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Miscellaneous Arithmetic Problems (HCF and LCM, Profit and Loss, SI & CI, Problem on Ages, Work and Time, Speed Distance and Time, Probability, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Problems on Boats and Stream, Problems on Trains, Mixture and Allegation, Pipes and Cisterns)

English Language Syllabus

The questions asked in this section can be easily handled if your basics are clear. Sometimes, even those who can communicate very well in English, fail to perform to the best of their ability in competitive exams. Instead of boiling the ocean, try building up a strong vocabulary, effective knowledge of grammar, and efficient comprehension skills so as to be on the ball to face this particular section. The syllabus for English Language, IBPS Clerk Examination is:
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Cloze Test
  • Fillers
  • Sentence Errors
  • Vocabulary based questions
  • Sentence Improvement
  • Jumbled Paragraph
  • Paragraph Based Questions (Paragraph Fillers, Paragraph Conclusion, Paragraph /Sentences Restatement)

General / Financial Awareness Syllabus

The questions asked in IBPS Clerk General Awareness Section are usually based on Banking Awareness, Static Awareness, and Current Affairs. This year we observed a change in the pattern of GA Section of banking examinations as well. Most of the questions are now being asked from Banking Awareness so this section too is going to be very challenging.
  • Banking Awareness
  • Financial Awareness
  • Govt. Schemes and Policies
  • Current Affairs
  • Static Awareness

IBPS CLERK CUT OFF:

IBPS has released its notification for CWE of Clerk-VII (2017-18). For every banking aspirant, IBPS Clerk is a big opportunity and you must pace up your preparation. This year Clerk recruitment’s Prelims and Mains exam will take place in December’17 and January’18 respectively. To secure your seat in any IBPS or banking and insurance exam you must practice well and score enough to clear section-wise and overall cut off. But when it comes to selection and the merit list clearing cut off by margin is not the best idea. You must try to score well in Mains exam as for merit list even a fraction of a mark makes huge differences.

The term ‘Cut Off’ is predominantly associated with every Banking exam and when you are preparing for IBPS where you will be competing with presumably lakhs of candidates against few thousands of vacant seats, we understand that this term ‘cut-off’ is lingering in every aspirants’ mind. To get a better understanding of an exam and its level the best way is to analyse its previous year memory based paper and previous year cut off. Here we provide you IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims and Mains Cut Off.
