Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate The Delhi End TB Summit

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate The Delhi End TB Summit at VigyanBhawan in the capital tomorrow. The Summit, will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, WHO South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and Stop TB Partnership.

The Prime Minister will launch Tuberculosis Free India Campaign on this occasion. TB free India Campaign will take the activities of National Strategic Plan for TB elimination forward in Mission mode. The National Strategic Plan for TB elimination is backed by funding of over 12,000 crore rupees over the next three years to ensure every TB patient has access to quality diagnosis, treatment, and support.

 

Suresh Prabhu assumes Additional Charge of Ministry of Civil Aviation

Aviation is one of the fastest growing sectors of the Indian economy. This was stated by the Minister of Commerce and Industry while assuming additional charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation today. Speaking on this occasion the Minister said that the Open Skies Policy is leading to tremendous growth in the aviation sector and the benefits of this growth will be seen in increased employment generation.

 

Government has approved upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India

The Government has plans for upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Tourist amenities proposed to be upgraded include the parking, ticket counter, publication counter, cafeteria, toilet block, drinking water facilities, dustbins, benches, ramps (for the  differently abled), pathways, singages, etc.

 

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Reserve Bank of India

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The MoU was signed by Mr. Sudarshan Sen, Executive Director of the RBI and Dr. (Ms.) Mamta Suri, Executive Director of the IBBI in the august presence of Mr. Injeti Srinivas, Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Dr. M. S. Sahoo, Chairperson, IBBI and other distinguished Members of the Insolvency Law Committee (ILC) on the side-lines of the 4th meeting of the ILC at New Delhi.

 

Centre Constitutes Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal

The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has issued a notification today constituting the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal. The Tribunal will have its headquarters at Delhi and will have the following members nominated by the Chief Justice of India:

  1. Mr Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, Judge, Supreme Court of India as Chairman
  2. Dr Justice Ravi Ranjan, Judge, Patna High Court as Member
  3. Mrs Justice Indermeet Kaur Kochhar, Judge, Delhi High Court as Member

 

Paryatan Parv organized across the country to promote “Tourism for All”

World champions Australia have lifted the coveted Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey title. In the final at Ipoh, Malaysia, they beat defending champions England by a narrow 2-1 margin. Australia has now won the prestigious tournament for the 10th time.

India has won the “Best Exhibitor Award” at ITB – Berlin on its last day. India was represented by the Minister of State (Independent charge) for Tourism Mr. K. J. Alphons along with a couple of Tourism Ministry officials.

 

India, France pledge to build world’s largest nuclear plant

PM Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday pledged to begin work on “the largest nuclear power plant in the world” in India by this year. Urging Electricite de France SA and India’s Nuclear Power Corporation to accelerate discussions on a contract and start work at Maharashtra’s Jaitapur, the leaders said the
plant would have a 9.6-gigawatt capacity
