Petroleum Minister Inaugurates World-Class Interpretation Centre and Tourist Amenities at KonarkSun Temple

Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & EntrepreneurshipShri Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the world-class Interpretation Centre and tourist facilities at Konark Sun Temple at Konark today which coincides with Utkal Divas celebrationsin Odisha.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan complimented The IndianOil Foundation (IOF), a non-profit trust fully funded by IndianOil Corporation (IndianOil), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas,for developing the visitor-friendlyinfrastructure and associated facilities, including a state-of-the-artInterpretation Centre that showcases the unique architectural features of Konark Sun Temple.

 

Rivigo Ties Up With IDFC, YES Bank, For Truck Loans

Rivigo, a homegrown logistics start-up that owns as well as acts as an aggregator of trucks is tying up with YES Bank, IDFC, and 10 other financial institutions to make cheaper funds available to truck owners and operators on its platform. The funds will be available at an interest rate of 1-2 percent per month, lower than the usual industry standard of 2-3 percent.

 

Union Cabinet approves re-structuring of NSDF and NSDC

The Union Cabinet approved the proposal for restructuring of National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to strengthen their governance, implementation and monitoring framework. The purpose of restructuring is also to ensure better corporate governance. It will also lead to a restructuring of the composition of Board of NSDF and NSDC to strengthen governance, implementation and monitoring framework.

 

CCEA approves continuation of Nutrient Based Subsidy and City Compost Scheme

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved for continuation of Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme and City Compost Scheme and City Compost Scheme beyond 12th Five Year plan till 2019-20. The proposal was forwarded by Department of Fertilizers. 61,972 crore. The expenditure will be on actual basis since the national rollout of DBT entails 100% payment of subsidy to fertilizer companies. Similarly, MDA is being governed by City Compost Scheme which was launched in 2016.

 

Union Governmenmt signs $80millions loan agreement with ADB to help modernize Technical Education in Himachal

Asian Development Bank, ADB, and Government of India today signed 80 million dollar loan to help modernize Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET institutions and improve the skills ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh.  Joint Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs Sameer Kumar Khare signed the loan agreement from Indian side and Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission, Kenichi Yokoyama signed on behalf of ADB.  Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khare said, the project will support the skill initiatives of Himachal Pradesh and help the state step-up the reform and scale-up its skill development efforts.

 

India receives first consignment of LNG from United States

India’s first liquefied natural gas cargo from the United States landed at the Dabhol regasification terminal in Maharashtra. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan received the first-ever shipment of 1.2 lakh tonne LNG under the long-term contract of 20 years.  Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pradhan describing the arrival of the first shipment and the conclusion of the long-term contract with the US-based Cheniere Inc as a new beginning in the Indo-US energy partnership and trade.
