RRB has recently announced few major updates for the upcoming Railways RRB Group D 2018 and RRB ALP 2018 exam. Here’s a compilation of those updates brought to you by , an online exam preparation platform for government, banking and MBA exams.

 

  1. Last Date for Online Applicate Extended

Last date to apply for RRB Group D and ALP 2018 has been extended to 31st of March 2018. The revised online application with the modified eligibility is made available for submission from 28th Feb 2018.

 

  1. Exam Fee to be Refunded

The Railways charge Rs. 500/- as examination fees for recruitment. Now, RRB has decided to refund Rs. 400/- to those candidates who appear for the exam. To enable refund of this amount, candidates will be required to submit details of their bank accounts online. For exempted categories like SC, ST, Divyang, Ex-servicemen, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes, the amount charged will be Rs. 250/- and the whole amount will be refunded to those candidates who will appear for the exam.

 

  1. Minimum Educational Qualification for Group D Posts

The minimum qualification required for vacancies of trackmen, helpers etc in Group D Level 1 recruitment was class 10 pass certificate along with an Industrial Training Institute or equivalent certificate. But now, the latter has been made optional. Now, even if the aspirants do not possess the technical certification, they can apply if they have passed class 10.

  1. 15 Languages for Computer Based Test (CBT)

Question papers this year will be provided to the candidates in 15 languages. This would include Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Assamese, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Tamil and Telugu.
