Suresh Prabhu launches digital platform for MSME Exporters

The Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Suresh Prabhu launchedthe FIEO GlobalLinker- a digital platform for MSME exporters to digitise their businesses and join a global community of growing businesses today in New Delhi.

The Minister congratulated Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) for coming out with the interesting idea. He said that this initiative will help in expanding India’s multi-focused export strategy and also aid in connecting art and artisans to the market. Minister also informed that at least 300 Geographical Indications will be registered very soon, which will give a major boost to exports.

 

DARPAN-PLI App was launched by Shri Manoj Sinha

Hon’ble Minister of Communications Shri Manoj Sinha today launched here the DARPAN-PLI App, which will help in collection of premium for PLI and RPLI policies at Branch Post Offices anywhere in India, with online updation of the policies. Further, with launch of this App, indexing of maturity claims in respect of PLI and RPLI polices can be done at Branch Post Office itself, upon which the insurant will immediately be provided with the request number for further references. Shri Sinha said that these two initiatives will help Department of Posts in providing better after-sales service to customers of PLI and RPLI, particularly those living in rural areas of the country.

 

Lt Gen PP Malhotra takes over as DG NCC

Lieutenant General PP Malhotra assumed charge as Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC), the largest uniformed youth organization in the world on 11 Apr 2018.

Lt Gen Malhotra’s distinguished professional career includes various regimental, staff and command appointments.  Prior to assuming his present appointment, he was the Chief Engineer of the Army’s premier Northern Command.

 

Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Shri Prakash Javadekar to launch ‘Study in India’ portal of HRD Ministry

In another ground-breaking initiative, the ‘Study in India’ portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in) of HRD Ministry will be launched at the India Habitat Centre on Wednesday, 18th April 2018 by the Minister of External Affairs, Smt. Sushma Swaraj in the presence of Minister of Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar. Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State for HRD, Government of India will also be present on the occasion.

Yes Bank Launches GST Backed Over Draft Facility For MSMEs

Yes Bank announced the launch of ‘Yes GST’, an OD (over draft) facility for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Through this, an MSME can avail OD up to Rs 1 crore, based on their annual turnover, backed by GST returns. Any additional assessment of balance sheet or bank statements will not be required. This OD facility can be availed by an MSME against mortgage of residential or commercial property. The sanctioned amount can be utilized by the MSME either fully or in tranches.

 

Union Government Revises Target To Complete PMGSY From Year 2022 To 2019

The Union Government has stated that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana or PMGSY is well on its way to achieving the target by March 2019. The scheme, since its inception in 2000, has been able to provide connectivity to more than One lakh 50 thousand habitations.  Sensing the importance and urgency of rural roads for national development, the target date for completion of PMGSY-I has been preponed from 2022 to 2019.

 

Kotak Mahindra Bank Pips SBI To Become Indias 2nd Most Valuable Bank

Shares of private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited beat India’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) for the first time to become the second most valued bank in the country. Data from BSE showed that Kotak Mahindra Bank has a market capitalization of Rs2,22,560.69 crore after its shares rose 1.7%. SBI market capitalization stood at Rs2,22,043.74 crore. Its shares were trading at Rs248.80 on BSE, down 1% from its previous close. HDFC Bank Limited remained country’s most valuable bank with a capitalization action of Rs5.04 trillion.
