The product is specially designed to ensure that quality healthcare remains accessible and affordable to millions of people in India, especially in times when medical expenses are getting beyond everyone’s reach.
‘Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, ManipalCigna’ is a simplified product that provides an essential health cover of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakhs for medical treatment of illnesses and injuries requiring in-patient hospitalization including for infectious diseases like Coronavirus (Covid-19) or similar such diseases and also provides cover for listed modern treatments & procedures. In addition, the product offers pre- hospitalization, post-hospitalization, AYUSH treatment, all day-care treatments, road ambulance, cumulative bonus in case of no claim and medical expenses if the insured undergoes a cataract surgery. The product also provides a family discount of 15% for covering 2 and more family members under the single individual policy to make it more affordable for families. There is an additional Online Renewal Discount of 3% p.a. from first renewal onwards, if the premium is received through NACH or Standing Instruction (where payment is made either by direct debit of bank account or credit card).

China to launch IoT communications satellites named after Wuhan
China will launch the first two communications satellites for its space-based Internet-of-Things (IoT) project in mid to late April, with one satellite named after its birthplace Wuhan, according to the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC).
The rocket to send the satellites, Kuaizhou-1A, was developed by the Wuhan-based Sanjiang Group under the CASIC.
Science ministry sets up a rapid response centre at IIT Bombay to combat COVID-19
Union science and technology ministry on Friday approved setting up of an exclusive body – Centre for Augmenting War with COVID-19 Health Crisis’ (CAWACH) – at a total cost of Rs 56 crore to scout, evaluate and support innovations and start-ups that address COVID-19 challenges. Focus of the body would be to come out with deployable innovations within six months.
The Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), a technology business incubator at IIT Bombay, has been identified as implementing agency of the CAWACH.

This hackathon is part of a global initiative and is being organised by ‘Hack A Cause – India’ and ‘Ficci Ladies Organization Pune’ and supported by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India (MEITY).
Aim of this hackathon is to strengthen fight against COVID19.The winning ideas from few top participating teams, as implementable solutions on corona crisis is expected to help India and global citizens.
NHA inks pact with Uber for transportation service for public healthcare workers
The National Health Authority (NHA) on Friday said it has inked a pact with ride hailing app Uber to provide transport services for frontline healthcare workers involved in treatment of covid-19 patients.
Uber will initially facilitate the provision of 150 cars free of cost to support medical facilities in certain cities–New Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Patna through its UberMedic service.
IIT Kanpur researchers to design a cost-effective virucidal coating of surgical masks for preventive measures against COVID-19
Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body under Department of Science and Technology, is supporting a research by a team of scientists from IIT Kanpur for developing a protective coating that would greatly help in making medicated masks and medical wear (PPE) for fighting COVID-19.
The team would be developing the coating using a combination of common polymers containing anti-microbial properties and re-purposable anti-viral molecules and materials used would make it a cost effective solution. Doctors and nurses, treating COVID-19 patients and hence susceptible to contamination due to their nature of work, will immensely benefit from this as it would add a layer of security for them while treating COVID-19 patients. Cost-effectiveness of the project would also help in mass-scale production.
Official mascots of 19th Asian Games unveiled in Hangzhou China
The official mascots of the 19th Asian Games were unveiled at a digital launch ceremony in Hangzhou, China on Friday. The three robots, which are going to be the mascots for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games are collectively known as the smart triplets.
The Mascots – Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen, which reflect the internet prowess of Hangzhou city and Zhejiang province, were unveiled at a digital ceremony in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that has brought the whole world to a stand still.
The Olympic Council of Asia’s 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou from September 10 to 25, 2022. It will be the third Asian Games to be hosted by China following Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010, with the participation of 45 NOCs of Asia in 42 sports.
