Hardeep Puri Launches Smart Imprest Cards & E- Measurement Book (e-MB) On PFMS Portal for CPWD
Shri Hardeep Puri, Minister of State (I/C) for Housing & Urban Affairs has launched Smart Imprest Cards & e- Measurement Book ( e-MB) on PFMS portal for CPWD, here today. Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, M/o HUA, officials of Ministry of Finance and banks were also present at the launch function. With the launch of e-MB module on PFMS Portal in CPWD, this will be the first integrated web based module in Civil Ministries to monitor both the financial progress i.e. utilization of funds along with related physical progress captured as per schedule of various items of works through e-MB in all projects/works undertaken by CPWD.
Union Home Minister launches e-FRRO scheme
The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh launched the web-based application ‘e-FRRO’ (e-Foreigners Regional Registration Office) at a function here today. Speaking on the occasion Shri Rajnath Singh said that it has been a constant endeavour of the Home Ministry to provide fast and efficient services to foreigners visiting India so that they have a pleasant experience of their stay here.
Indian Companies and Russian Oems Sign 7 Mous for Defence Hardware during Defexpo 2018
The third India-Russia Military Industrial Conference was held on the side-lines of DefExpo 2018 at Thiruvidanthai, Kancheepuram district on the East Coast Road near Chennai, today. The Indian delegation was led by Secretary (Defence Production) Dr Ajay Kumar while Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation Mr Oleg Ryazantcev led the Russian side. The Russian delegation comprised senior representatives of the Government and representatives of the leading Defence Industries. Around 75 Indian defence sector manufacturing companies and 28 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) from Russian industry participated in the conference.
MoU Between Indian Army and Axis Bank
A Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) was signed between the Indian Army and Axis Bank on the Defence Salary Package on 13 Apr 2018. The first MoU between Axis Bank and the Indian Army was signed in 2011 and was renewed on 24 Mar 2015. The current MoU is tailor-made to suit the requirements of serving soldiers, pensioners and families.
The signing-in ceremony was chaired by the Director General (MP&PS), Lt Gen SK Saini and was attended by the top dignitaries of Axis Bank headed by Mr Sanjay Sailas, President and Head, Retail Banking, Axis Bank.
BEML & OFB launches Force Multiplier 155mm 52 Cal Mounted Gun system
Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) and Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML) have unveiled its latest product viz 155mm 52 Cal Mounted Gun system at a function held at the ongoing DefExpo 2018 in Chennai. It was launched jointly by CMD, BEML Shri Deepak Kumar Hota and DGOF & Chairman OFB Shri S K Chourasia.
Late Veteran Actor Vinod Khanna Awarded Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Veteran Hindi film actor Shri Vinod Khanna was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema. This was announced during the 65th National Film Awards. Some of the other prominent winners in various categories for this year National Film Awards included Assamese movie ‘Village Rockstars’ in Best Feature Film category and ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’ in the Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment category. The Feature Film Central panel was headed by Shekhar Kapur.
FSSAI Launches Initiative To Address Vitamin D Deficiency
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) launched ‘Project Dhoop’, an initiative aimed at shifting the school assembly time to noon to ensure maximum absorption of Vitamin D in students through natural sunlight. The project was launched in New Delhi and saw the participation of around 600 students from NCERT, NDMC and North MCD Schools. Project Dhoop’s Noon Assembly is an innovative and effective concept to ensure that school students get adequate Vitamin D.
IGI Among Worlds Top 20 Busiest Airports
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport climbed six positions to reach on 16th Position to enter the club of the top 20 airports across the world, the Airport Council International’s preliminary report on airport traffic for 2017. IGI’s passenger traffic grew by 14.1% year over year. The report added that IGI Airport was also the fastest-growing airport among those in the top 20 club. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport in the United States with 104 million passengers secured the top spot, followed by Beijing at the second position and Dubai at the third.
World’s Largest Solar Park To Come Up In Gujarat
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani approved setting up a 5,000 MW capacity solar park at the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), which would be the largest such entity in the world after its completion. The proposed solar power generation project would be set up in 11,000 hectares of land with an investment of Rs 25,000 crore. The project will contribute significantly in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s target of producing 175 gigawatts of electricity through renewable energy sources by 2022.
IPS Officer Rajesh Ranjan appointed as DG Of CISF
Senior IPS officer Rajesh Ranjan was appointed as Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Mr Ranjan is at present Special Director General, Border Security Force (BSF). He has been appointed as the chief of the CISF till 2020.
India and Morocco Sign Pact To Promote Mineral Exploration
India inked a pact with Morocco under which focus would be laid on the evaluation of potential mineral resources and promoting exploration and mining through the participation of both public and private sector. The MoU was signed in New Delhi after the bilateral discussions between Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and his counterpart Aziz Rabbah of Morocco.
